Whereas, the War on Drugs has had a disparate impact on specific communities, and the wealth and opportunity from Cannabis markets are overwhelmingly not available to the communities disproportionately affected;
I support,
1. programs that utilize the wealth and resources generated in the Cannabis market to
support the communities that were disproportionately affected by the War on Drugs.
2. the distribution of Cannabis tax revenue to programs, people, and organizations from specific
communities disproportionately affected by the War on Drugs.
3. Cannabis businesses, trade associations, publications, and related ancillary
organizations that sign this statement, and contribute to the Impact Overhaul Project.
4. advocating for equity directives in states developing new Cannabis applicattion rules so that
communities disproportionately affected can have increased access to ownership.
I believe the coexistence of the disproportionate damages from the War on Drugs and the
inaccessible wealth generating opportunities of legal Cannabis markets is an opportunity for
calling attention to and taking action on systemic racism in America.
